The government has increased the enrollment quotas for regular students at the Department of Mathematics – in the field of Theoretical Computer Science
Today, at the session of the Government, the enrollment quotas for regular students in the Department of Mathematics – in the direction of Theoretical Computer Science of the Natural – Mathematics Faculty and the Department of Computing and Informatics of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and UNSA were increased.
Previously, 30 full-time students were planned for each of these departments, and 80 self-financing students at ETF and 30 at PMF.
Given that there is a pronounced imbalance in the supply and demand of these personnel on the labor market in the field of the IT industry and that the Sarajevo Canton Government is committed to increasing the number of students on IT study programs and providing all students interested in these programs the opportunity to study for free, Minister Aleksandra Nikolić and Minister Today, Adnan Delic asked the government to increase the quotas for enrollment in these departments.
“I am glad that the Government accepted our initiative and increased the quotas for 250 newly enrolled full-time students at these two departments, of which 100 students at PMF and 150 at ETF. This is the first step and we are certainly still working on finding the best model to meet the needs of the market in the area of the fastest growing industry in the Canton area. I am happy that now not 60, but 250 of our young people have the right to study for free at these two departments, and I believe that we will have a great generation of new young IT experts”, said Minister Delić.
