Club coordinator: Meliha Kurtagić
That our students are really hardworking is evidenced, among other things, by the Programming Club of PMF, which started its work on 21.7.2016. years. Its founding idea is Assoc. Ph.D. Elmedin Selmanović and prof. Ph.D. Esmira Pilava, which was realized together with second and third-year students (theoretical computer science major): Muhamed Ahmatović, Ognjen Bostjančić, Meliha Kurtagić, Nudžejma Imamović, Lejla Bakija, Edin Terzić, Aiša Gadžo, Ena Ahmetbegović, and Belmin Korjenić.
The desire to connect students who are interested in computer science, learning new things, and working on new projects (which will certainly be very useful to our students and make them more competitive in the labor market after graduation) are just some of the reasons for the existence of this club.
What is important to note is that the students have the full support of the Department of Mathematics, as well as the Association of Mathematicians of the Sarajevo Canton, who provided all the equipment with which to work: LEGO Mindstorms EV3, AR Drone 2.0 Elite Edition, HTC Vive, and Raspberry Pi. Also, the plan is to acquire new equipment.
The last project within the Club, whose main goal was to get acquainted with the programming language Java, was done with the Lego Mindstorms EV3 robot. Namely, an application was created to manage the movement of the robot and read the colors it encounters – using its color sensor. The project was successfully implemented at the end of last semester by Edin Terzić, Muhamed Ahmatović and Meliha Kurtagić.
All students who would like to learn something new and have fun at the same time are invited to join our Club.
